Embroidery

For the past decade I have enjoyed cross stitch embroidery.  Twelve years ago I discovered hardanger embroidery and have combined the two forms.

More recently I have been honoured to stitch liturgical stoles for a friend.

These are displayed below, as modelled by Reverend Leanne Munro, previously of St Stephen's Presbyterian Church in Hamilton, New Zealand, and now in Wellington.  Click on the small picture to see a full sized view.  Then use your back arrow to return to this page. Thanks for viewing.

Stole No. 1, White.  Celtic Trinity Candle on left, outlined white cross on right.  Stitched in 1999.

Designs of the native birds and flora have been taken from Cherry Parker's New Zealand designs.

Most can be found in her books, "Kiwi Cross Stitch" and "Kiwi ABC Cross Stitch" and also her New Zealand Postcard series.  She has a wide range of designs, which can be viewed at her website -www.nzcrossstitch.co.nz.

  Check it out!
